Keeping In Touch

31st Mar 2020

Well Parents,

I hope you and your families are all keeping safe and well. We are living through very unfamiliar and worrying times. I’m sure, like all the staff, at times it is hard to keep a sense of normality in your daily lives. I hope at this stage you have all got to grips with some sort of routine and the children are working through their packs. We always appreciate the time and effort you put in to your children with their homework but we do appreciate that you could like ourselves, be facing challenges at present. However we hope the rewards you are getting far outweigh any challenges!
The work packs the teachers prepared were for the most part based on work that they intended to cover in class and therefore I would ask that you place most emphasis on the Literacy and Numeracy activities provided.
The teachers have provided you with a lot of wonderful websites but these should be used to supplement the written activities in the packs. A big well done to the older children who are continuing to use Mathletics and Accelerated Reader and we will continue to keep an eye on how you are getting on.
We are presently working on a new page on the Website called Home Learning and we will be keeping in contact with you through this as soon as the setup is complete. It will require a password which we will send to you through a text. The children can access the Junior Newsdesk through C2k and there are some great activities for them to do and articles to read on it. Eamon has set up his weekly Garageband Lessons on the Newsdesk too.
Since the schools closed we have been fortunate the weather has been good and what better way to keep the children’s minds fresh between their work sessions than to get outside for a while!

Please contact us if you need any support or guidance and let us all continue to keep each other in our thoughts and prayers. Please stay safe!!

God Bless
