🧡✨ After School Sewing Club Week One ✨🧡 Week one at Sewing Club and the pupils have been busy learning some fantastic new skills! This week, children learned how to carefully thread a needle and practised the safe and responsible use of sewing needles. They were introduced to two key stitching techniques β€” the running stitch and the back stitch β€” building strong foundations for future sewing projects. Beyond learning practical skills, our young sewers have been developing their hand–eye coordination, concentration, and perseverance. It has been wonderful to see their patience and determination grow with every stitch! πŸ™ŒπŸ»βοΈ Watch this space for their future creations! πŸͺ‘🧢
🎢 Music Magic in P2/3! 🎢 Our P2/3 class had a fantastic time today learning music with Miss Loughran. The boys and girls loved exploring rhythms, beats, and new sounds β€” lots of smiles, singing, and super teamwork! 🎀πŸ₯βœ¨ Well done, everyone β€” great learning and great fun! πŸ’›πŸ‘
Our fantastic P6/7 class had a wonderful day stepping back in time as part of our An Gorta MΓ³r (The Great Irish Famine )topic πŸ“šβ³πŸ₯” First stop was Dungannon Library, where pupils researched what life was like in our local area during the Famine. Using the internet to research photographs and historical records, the class explored schooling, housing, jobs and daily life in the 1800s. It was brilliant to see everyone so engaged and asking such thoughtful questions! We then travelled up to the Hill of The O’Neill & Ranfurly House Arts and Visitor Centre, where pupils met β€˜Mrs McKinley’ and experienced a powerful, real-life introduction to what it would have been like to enter the workhouse as a child in Victorian times. Through role-play and storytelling, the children gained a deeper understanding of the hardships faced by families in our locality during this period. It was an eye-opening and memorable experience that really brought our history topic to life. Well done P6/7 for your excellent behaviour, curiosity and thoughtful participation! πŸ‘βœ¨ Ranfurly House Arts & Visitor Centre

Our amazing P2/3 boys and girls are having a fantastic time exploring their WAU topic **β€œBirds”** 🐦🌿 They’ve been discovering lots of different bird species πŸ¦…πŸ¦‰πŸ•ŠοΈ, learning all about where they live and how they survive. The creativity has been soaring as they make their own bird feeders πŸ₯£πŸŒ», design beautiful bird-inspired artwork 🎨✨, and even built large-scale nests to protect a precious egg πŸͺΊπŸ₯š! So many hands-on, fun-filled activities helping our young learners spread their wings and fly high with their learning! πŸ’›πŸ“šβœοΈ We are so proud of their teamwork, imagination and enthusiasm! πŸŒŸπŸ‘
Today in Reception and Primary 1, we made the most of some dry weather by enjoying a lovely walk in the fresh air 🚢 We really hope this is the start of the rain staying away πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™Œ
