Be Kind To Your Mind

11th Feb 2022

During Children’s Mental Health Week we explored a variety of ways to build our resilience and develop our concentration through mindfulness.

We made A Calm Bottle, calm bottles can help quieten the busyness of our minds. Thoughts and feelings can flutter around our minds and bodies like the glitter in the bottle. When we concentrate on watching the glitter settle it helps settle the flurry of our thoughts and feelings and help us to relax.

We explored mindful painting and colouring, mindful listening, reading, building with Lego and using playdough as tools that can help to increase our focus and concentration therefore helping to calm our minds and be emotionally regulated.

When we are emotionally regulated we are ready to learn.

Practising yoga is beneficial for our physical health and our mental health. It can improve our flexibility, and helps to unblock and release any negative emotion our bodies may be storing. We feel calm, relaxed and happy after our yoga sessions.

We shared photos of activities that make us happy, baking (Mollie makes the most delicious buns 😊😋) playing with our toys and games, gardening, spending time with our families 🥰.
